Imam Fode Drame is a Quranic exegete, scholar, linguist, husband, and father of five. Through his conviction to connect people and greater communities to the word of God, he started the Zawiyah Foundation in Vancouver, British Columbia. His vision: to promote the pursuit of love and happiness by building a three dimensional relationship between man and God, man and himself, and man and the rest of creation.

With his goal to branch out to other communities across the continent, Imam Fode Drame decided to establish a seperate institution for his teachings in the greater Detroit area. Thus, in 2022, the Zawiyah Foundation Michigan was established as a non-profit religious organization.

This organization will facilitate creating welcoming spaces for congregational prayer, communal dhikrs (circles of remembrance), recitation of the Qur’an, community dinners, classes, and visits from Imam Fode Drame in order to establish his original vision for the greater Detroit community.
